LongTreks-Episode 5

Posted on 04 August 2010 by admin

For those of you who haven’t been following the last four video postings of Ryane Longboard’s, “LongTreks”, we’ve been following a few of our mountainboarding cousins, longboarders as they travel 1500 miles by longboard.

Here’s is Rayne Longboard’s official intro to episode 5:

“Skateboarding uphill for 3 days proves an actual possibility—now time for some Downhilling! This episode includes bad pavement, diarrhea, scrapes and bruises, and the first showers taken in 4 days (Electric shower. Whoo hoo!)—Aaron falls in love and quits the trip.”

LongTreks-Episode 4

Posted on 29 July 2010 by admin

Here’s the official intro from Rayne Longboards, our mountainboarding cousins, about episode 4 of the LongTreks expedition:

“The easy part is over! We now face the hardest climb yet, from sea level to summit of a 14,000ft mountain. Inch by inch, we skate into the mouth of the Andes and become
drenched as we ascend into the rain-clouds. At high-altitude we battle tougher terrain with half the amount of oxygen. Sleeping for 15 hours in their tents, so as to outlive the
rain and rest from the oxygen-deficient altitudes, proves to be costly and depletes our water and food supply, but we must push onward, striving to make it to the next town.”

LongTreks-Episode Three

Posted on 30 June 2010 by admin

Here’s your official introductory message from Rayne Longboards:

“In this episode our three a’gringos come to a fork in the road at the base of a large Peruvian mountain. One way says fifteen miles to the next destination–the other says five. Upon asking the locals which way to go, our gringos are encouraged to eat hot peppers and have a traditional meal with the locals… later resulting in gasket-blowing Diarrhea. Not listening to the directions that the locals give them, they take the shorter route, also known as the Peruvian Death Hill # 1. The going is rough, the pavement awful–their life expectancy is grim. Enjoy.”

LongTreks-Episode Two

Posted on 25 June 2010 by admin

This is episode two of a video documentation made by Rayne Longboards. Three longboarders (slightly distant and partially untwisted cousins of mountainboarders) have embarked on a 1500 mile journey by longboard. It’s good to see our fellow boardsport brothers engaging in strange and uncommon activities. It seems that this kind of strangeness is what makes life awesome.

Here’s the introductory word straight from the mouth of Rayne Mountainboards:
“Our three dirty amigos continue on down the desert-coast of Peru, feverishly battling mirages, heat stroke, and sunburns; all the while fueling themselves with savory cookies and watery watermelons. Struggling to keep spirits high and save energy, they resort to communication in simple hand signals and primitive noises. Unfortunately, bad-timing causes them to become trapped in a city at night with no place to sleep, and they are forced to bed-down in the crops of a local farmers field.”

LongTreks-Episode One

Rayne Longboards, is a company based out of British Columbia, Canada that specializes in quality longboards. Recently Rayne has commenced a 1500 mile skate trip and has been keeping tabs on the crew through videos. As longboarders are a slightly more tamed cousin of ours, I thought it would be fun to join them, in spirit, by including their video documentory on Mountainboard.net.

Here’s Rayne’s into to their first video:

“The Episodes get more gnarly. Look into the dirty, filthy, hilarious lifestyle of our 3 beloved long-distance skateboarders. Adam Colton, Paul Kent, and Aaron Enevoldsen begin their 1500mile journey from Lima, Peru to skate across one of the driest deserts in the world, all the way to the highest-altitude city in the world Potosi, Bolivia.”
